Why the Author wrote this book

Slave Runner is my new book after I stopped reading Water for Elephants. I finished the book over spring break. I think that the author wrote this book mainly to show what would happen if the government got out of control. My book is set in the future during a time where the republicans and democrats fight constantly and cannot agree on anything so, one party ends up seceding from the county. Soon the parties go to war with nuclear weapons. Almost all of the country was completely demolished, so survivors went into hiding.

The main characters Brooke and Bree, are sisters living in the mountains. People called Slave runners capture these hidden people and make they make them kill each other for entertainment in an arena. They capture Bree and Brooke goes after her to save her. I would recommend this book to anyone because it has a lot of action and its really interesting. This book is the first of 3 books in the series.

  1. This book reminds me of "The Hunger Games," since the government got out of control. It really reminds me of it because of the killing in the arena for entertainment.
