what to read next
I just finished the book, Maze Runner, and it was really good. I had read the book awhile ago, but forgot about all the details in the book and how good it was. I plan on reading The Scorch Trials next because it is the next book in the series. I really want to continue in this series because I think that it is just going to get more interesting and I want to know what happens to the kids. I hope that there is a lot of action in the next book since there was in Maze Runner and that's what kept me interested and wanting to keep reading.
Predictions
I have read about 5 pages into my new book, Bumped, and I'm not sure yet what its going to be about. I think that the main character is pregnant but only 16. Also, I think that the setting is in the future because she uses a device to locate where her friends are that I have never heard about before. I predict that the book will be about her being pregnant, but the story is one of those books that flips point of views every chapter and I think that it flips with her sister. Maybe her sister is pregnant also? There is a sequel to this book called Thumped, where I think she will have the baby. I think that it will be a really good book just based on the first couple of pages.

Suspense throughout my book
The book I just finished, Across the Universe, was really good and the ending was not what anyone would have expected. The author did a really good job of building suspense because of all the cliffhangers during the entire course of the book. Also, you could sense that tension was building between some of the main characters and could tell that something was going to happen. I think that the authors way of building suspense was effective because it was settle enought that you did not think something big was going to happen but there was enought that you wanted to keep reading to see what would happen. She never hinted at what actually happened at the end so that made it even more surprising and an even better conclusion to the book since there is not a sequel. Overall, I think that the suspense in the book was what made me keep reading it.

Final Blogging Assessment in English 1B
So, I just finished Across the Universe, by Beth Revis, and let me tell you, it was pretty good. The author did a great job of making you feel like you have known the characters all your life and can relate to them on many levels. This is one of those books that in every chapter, the narrator changes, and most times these are the types of books I set down as soon as I realize it, but the beginning of this book just pulled me in. Amy is the main character and she woke up, after being frozen for 300 years (weird), onto a giant spaceship traveling to a new earth. At first, she starts going physco because she was woken up early by the leader of the ship on accident, but she soon starts to relax knowing that there is nothing she can do about it. That's the good thing about her-- I can't stand when I feel like characters are being too dramatic but since she calmed down, she became a lot less annoying to me. On the other hand, throughout the rest of the book, she acts snotty and makes rude remarks to people who don't deserve what shes putting them through. After one of her new friends, Harley, saves her from almost being raped she tells him, "'No.' I want to be alone. I want him to go..." (Revis 506). I would think that you would be grateful towards someone who just saved you, but Amy isn't and that's one of the worst qualities that she has and that any character could have. Overall, Amy was a very intresting main character, just not someone I would've created.

Why the author wrote my book
My book, Arena Two, was written by Morgan Rice is the 2nd book in the trilogy. I think that he wrote this book and series to show what could happen if the government does not fix itself. In the book the United States is torn apart by the 2 main political parties start a war and nuke each other. Rice is seeing what is going to happen in the future and writing about it in an entertaining way. He entertains people by having a lot of action in the book and cliffhangers that make the reader want to keep reading. Also, I think that because the first book was so good it made people want to keep reading to see what happens to the main characters.

Character Progression
In my book, Arena Two, one of the main characters is Bree. She was taken in the first book by the slave runners but rescued by her sister, Brooke. In this book they are mainly running away from the slave runners, trying to find a safe place to live. At first, I thought Bree was a weak person who really could not defend for themselves. But, in this book she has shown that she can fight against the slave runners and saves Brooke's life many times. I like how she progressed because earlier I felt like she was a burden on the group and acting like a child when she was already old enough to watch out for herself. I predict that she will help more with the group and be part of more decision making. Also, she is starting to have an opinion for herself. She used to just go with whatever Brooke said but she is sometimes going against her if she thinks differently.

Krista Ramsey Introduction Activity
Krista Ramsey Article
This article is about how people should think about what they are doing and not make poor decisions. She wrote this article about how she saw a man and his kid standing in a pot, crushing all the flowers planted by nearby businesses, just to get a better view of the Opening Day Parade.
Best Line: "You will never remember the moment. I can't forget it."
I think this line impacts the reader because it is the first line of the post and it portrays how Krista feels about her experience she wrote in the blog. The 2 sentences in this certain line are medium and short lengths, and because of these lengths it stays in the readers mind and makes them think about it and what it is foreshadowing. The diction is casual in this sentence, so it shows how the rest of the blog post will be written. Also, the line is a cliffhanger, so it makes the reader want to keep reading and see what she is talking about.
I think that Ramsey's writing style is a more relaxed and casual style. I think this because most of the diction in her writing is casual and not a lot of elevated-type words. For example, in one of her columns, Ramsey: Super Bowl QBs score points for great style, she writes, "Probably half the population sees this as a problem and the other half, a blessing." In this line Ramsey could have used more elevated words but instead she used more casual. For example, she might have switched out problem for dilemma, but because of her more casual writing style, she didn't.
