This article is about how people should think about what they are doing and not make poor decisions. She wrote this article about how she saw a man and his kid standing in a pot, crushing all the flowers planted by nearby businesses, just to get a better view of the Opening Day Parade.
Best Line: "You will never remember the moment. I can't forget it."
I think this line impacts the reader because it is the first line of the post and it portrays how Krista feels about her experience she wrote in the blog. The 2 sentences in this certain line are medium and short lengths, and because of these lengths it stays in the readers mind and makes them think about it and what it is foreshadowing. The diction is casual in this sentence, so it shows how the rest of the blog post will be written. Also, the line is a cliffhanger, so it makes the reader want to keep reading and see what she is talking about.
I think that Ramsey's writing style is a more relaxed and casual style. I think this because most of the diction in her writing is casual and not a lot of elevated-type words. For example, in one of her columns, Ramsey: Super Bowl QBs score points for great style, she writes, "Probably half the population sees this as a problem and the other half, a blessing." In this line Ramsey could have used more elevated words but instead she used more casual. For example, she might have switched out problem for dilemma, but because of her more casual writing style, she didn't.
Questions I would ask:
- What made you decide to become a writer?
- How do you think you sound to people reading your work?
- What is your favorite thing to write about?
