I am almost finished with the book. The girls went to a party without telling their parents and ended up staying to long and their parents are really worried. They decide not to tell their parents about the party and make up a story about how a man came and attacked them by the river. They said they hit him un the head with a rock then ran away. They thought it worked pretty well until things started spiriling out of control. The police were called and the whole school had an assembally about saftey.
The police take a man into custody and since the girls dont want to get caught lying, they dont tell the truth and allow the innocent man to be taken. I don't know if they will eventually tell the truth or not, but i predict they will and be happy they did.
